Trageted Traffic to Your Website

Gone are the good old days when stuffing a page with keywords would kick you up on the first page of Yahoo! Back then, 1996 Google did not exist. Today it’s a full time job trying to get your site ranked on the main engines. However, it can be done with patience and hard work.

Don’t use the text link back services as google will penalize your site, and the shared link back directory services do very little if anything to help you rank. And for Gods sake don’t post to all the garbage classifieds and FFA’s out there. Your site will fall off the face of the earth!

Craigslist would be an exception. Lets say you have something to sell. Put it on craigslist with a link back to you site, or deep link it to a page on your website where you are offering the item. I havn’t tried this yet, but I will tonight!

Get a link back fro Yahoo on the “Yahoo Answers”. Post articles to high PR ezine and article websites. If your running Amazon Stores Pro Merchant you can get a link back from Amazon to the first store you created. Always go to the trouble of using your own domain name with an Amazon store as the search engines like it much better then simply using a permanent redirect.

You should also try off line advertising
as well as a set of pay per click ads. Today, you are competing with not only millions of other websites, companies, and major corporations, but extremely smart engine algorithms too.

I would even buy ads in news papers. Remember what ford said, “if I had a dollar, I would spent 10 cents to make a product, and 90 cents to advertise.” Try developing a unique keyword and the brand it. I did this and it works great. It should be a word you can brand like sony, ford, or GM.

One really big but time consuming art is improving the page titles. Just type in something your looking fopr in an engine and look closely at the titles. Changing some titles could increase your free traffic from MSN, Yahoo, and Google. One last thing. Submitting to 25,000 search engines is a waste of time. Only 10 or so control most of the internet traffic on planet earth.
