How Can I Get Links to Improve My SEO?

Well, most people are searching the Internet for quality information, and Google wants to give the best service to its users, so if your website is connected well throughout the Internet Google will view your site as being a good and valuable source of information.

If no other websites are linked to your website, Google will view your site as a site that may not contain sufficient information that warrants other websites to link to it. So you want to get as many other websites linking to your website as possible.

How many incoming links (links from other sites/pages to your website) do you currently have?

To find this out I use Yahoo Site Explorer: Just enter your complete website address into Site Explorer, then click Explore URL and you will see a list of all of the websites that currently link to your site.

Where can you get incoming links from?

Your customers - If your customers have websites it would be worth asking them if they could put a link on their website that links to yours.

Your Suppliers - If you can leverage anyone then it’s your suppliers. Tell them that you have been their customers for some time and you would appreciate it if they could put a link on their website that links back to yours.

Directories - There are hundreds of Online Directories, some paid directories and many free ones, if you can upload your company description to an online directory and include a link back to your website that would be very useful. Simply go to Google and search for relevant directories for your particular business or niche.

Article Directories - Submitting Articles to online article directories has become very popular for SEO purposes. In fact, when I was working on a particular SEO campaign recently I had achieved a number 2 position on Google for a particular keyword, but it was article submission that got me to Number 1 on Google.

What you do is write a 300/400 word article about your business/area of expertise and submit that article to an online directory such as EzineArticles.com and at the bottom of that article place a link back to your website.

As the article is original content relevant to your business, and as it is part of a website that contains millions of pages, it can be seen as a very good link to your website and that is what Google likes.

You can also get incoming links from leaving posts or comments on Forums etc. as long as you include a link back to your website.
